brent comber wooden furniture

Canadian designer brent comber creates furniture using wood in unusual ways. his ‘alder’ series features branches which have been clumped together and cut into geometric forms. the result of this process keeps the form of the tree intact while create a contemporary form. the ‘shattered’ collection has a similar process but instead of branches, it uses cut sections from logs. this creates an effect that resembles shattered glass or ice, hence the name. comber’s most innovative use of wood can be found in his series of lampshades made from cedar trunks. the shades have small perforation drilled in the side to let light through. comber’s work is all made with sustainably harvested wood, often using scraps from wood mills.

Darren Lynn Bousman directs this original rock opera, REPO! The Genetic Opera. The stage play turned horror movie musical opera is written and composed by Darren Smith (Band Leader) and Terrance Zdunich (Graverobber). Darren Bousman directed a 10 minute short to pitch the idea to LGF (Shawnee Smith played Heather (Amber) Sweet, for you all SAW fans). The film stars Alexa Vega, Anthony Stewart Head, Sarah Brightman, Terrance Zdunich, Bill Moseley, Nivek Ogre, Paris Hilton, and Paul Sorvino.

A lot of beginner riders want to get an advanced bike right away, but what they don’t understand is that a beginner bike is actually more fun to ride when you’re starting out. If you’ve never been on a motorcycle before, and you hop on a racing-tuned Honda Fireblade, you’re going to 1) be turned off from riding because of uncomfortable position, 2) be too concerned with trying to handle this powerhouse machine to really appreciate the act of riding, and 3) probably die. The longer you live, the more riding you can do, so dying isn’t in your best interest as a fan of motorcycles.
There is a huge selection of bikes out there that are nicely suited for beginners, with engines around 250cc, a nice comfortable seating position, and a low price; but there are only two that I ever recommend for younger riders: the Honda Nighthawk 250 and the Kawasaki Ninja 250. Full story here!
