Olight SR90 Intimidator – Most Hardcore Flashlight

April 21, 2011

The flashlight that you see in the picture above is the Olight SR90 Intimidator – it definitely lives up to its name. Seriously, it pumps out 2200 lumens, has a 1000 meter range and can run for 80-150 minutes.

“Welcome to a new era in LED technology. Leading the way is the Olight SR90 – a solid state LED flashlight that’s considerably brighter than a car headlight – and which throws it’s beam further. This is the first LED light we’ve ever seen which plays in the same league as an HID for output but the SR90 has an advantage: it offers instant, 100% output, which also allows it to strobe, and the optical superiority offers a much cleaner, smoother beam profile.”

As far as I can see, the only drawback is the $450 price tag. That and the amateurish background cleanup that someone did on the picture. Other than that, this thing is awesome. [Red Ferret]

SuperTooth HD Lets You Safely Text and Drive

April 19, 2011

So how is one to text and drive without risking an accident? The folks at SuperTooth have an idea. They are billing the SuperTooth HD as the most advanced Bluetooth speakerphone on the market – what does it do? Aside from the usual features that you would expect of a good Bluetooth phone kit, it allows owners compose Facebook, Twitter, email and SMS messages by voice (as long as you subscribe to the Dial2Do service.

If you have an annoying boss or jealous girlfriend/boyfriend that is pretty cool. For me, I’ll keep my money in my pocket and leave my phone on my front passenger seat as I have neither of those things. I’ll wait until someone comes up with a battery sucking app that does the same thing because I only like to pay for things once.

Price: $129 (available from April) for the SuperTooth HD, but if you want all of that groovy voice to text stuff you are going to have to shell out an extra $6 a month for the dial2do – which makes the whole thing seem a little less spectacular. [Coolest Gadgets]
